WAYNE, Pa., Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Availability Services will showcase its "Always Available" Enterprise Cloud Services at the 2012 Cloud Connect Conference (booth #414), February 13-16, 2012 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.

SunGard's Enterprise Cloud Services help organizations achieve cost savings and leverage the efficiency of a fully managed cloud environment with enterprise-grade application availability, reliability and security.  Built on best-in-class Vblock technology from VMware, Cisco and EMC, SunGard's Enterprise Cloud Services deliver managed compute, network, storage and security services that support customer production environments.

SunGard will also provide details on its Recover2Cloud Services, cloud-based, managed recovery solutions services that offer flexible, scalable and cost-effective recovery solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of an organization.  Recover2Cloud can support individual applications, multiple applications, diverse platforms, and hybrid (physical/virtual) environments.

"The conversation around Cloud has changed  from 'do I need to worry about it' to 'how do I make use of this to get more out of Enterprise IT'," said Indu Kodukula, chief technology officer at SunGard Availability Services. "The availability of production-ready, IT-ready enterprise cloud offerings has played a significant role in that evolution; Cloud Connect is the perfect occasion to continue that conversation."

At Cloud Connect, David Ayers, senior product manager, SunGard Availability Services, will present on "Taking a Private Path to the Cloud" on Feb. 14 at 1:15 p.m. in Grand Ballroom H.  He will discuss how the vendor landscape is filled with public solutions not always suited to enterprise needs for security, compliance, service levels and high availability. This session will discuss the growing need for private cloud and the different aspects to consider when evaluating private cloud solutions.

A second presentation, "Recovering Applications to Cloud: Top 5 Considerations for Raising Service Levels with Tiered Recovery Services," will be delivered at Cloud Solutions Theater by Ram Shanmugam, senior director of product management at SunGard Availability Services. In this session, Shanmugam will offer an inside perspective on the top five considerations for cloud-based recovery: analyzing applications by business value, selecting modern data movement into the cloud, automating recovery steps, using enterprise-class cloud platforms, and scoping network requirements.

Prior to the conference, SunGard is hosting a Happy Hour event for Cloud Connect attendees at Birk's Restaurant from 5:30 – 7 pm on Monday, February 13.  REGISTER HERE if you plan to attend the Happy Hour event.  (Here are Directions to Birk's Restaurant from the Convention Center).
