Point2 and CREA Enter Listing Distribution Agreement
Agreement optimizes online listing data distribution, exposure and accuracy for Canadian Real Estate Association members and consumers
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has selected Point2 (www.point2.com) to power part of its national online data distribution facility, the two organizations announced today. The data distribution facility will optimize CREA member listing exposure to online buyers. It will also introduce new listing accuracy measures designed to maintain high levels of data consistency and integrity on key real estate consumer portals and search engines across Canada.
Under the agreement, Point2 will distribute up to 350,000 residential and commercial listings from participating brokers and agents to a number of third party websites as directed by those participating brokers and agents at least once every 24 hours.
CREA will offer the new service to its members as part of their membership benefits, at no added cost. The service is expected to launch later this summer.
All leads generated through the new data distribution facility will be delivered to the respective listing brokers and agents, at no charge.
“I’m thrilled that this tool will help our members efficiently harness the power of the web in a way that protects the integrity of their listing content,” said Mary Van Buren, CREA’s vice president, Marketing and Information Technology. “Participating members will only have to update a listing once, and the updated information will be distributed to a number of selected real estate destinations with no further effort on their part.”
“We are excited to work with CREA on this important initiative,” said Saul Klein, senior vice president, Point2. “Wide online listing distribution has become an important part of real estate marketing. We’re pleased to have been chosen to deliver this advantage to brokers and agents across Canada.”
Traffic reports and analytics from the various Point2 distribution network websites will also be available to CREA members as part of their membership dues. The reports can be used to identify the best lead sources to support more informed marketing decisions such as enhanced advertising on any of the sites.
With more than 1.2 million listings, Point2 powers listing distribution for more than 250 real estate multiple listing services in the United States and associations across Canada.
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is one of Canada's largest single-industry trade associations. Our membership includes more than 100,000 real estate brokers, agents and salespeople, working through 100 real estate boards and associations across Canada.
