Mtbc Launches Its Practice Management Webinar Series With a Session on Annual Wellness Visit Reimbursement Under the Affordable Care Act
Somerset, NJ, July 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MTBC, a leading healthcare IT company serving providers throughout the country, will be hosting a complimentary webinar on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 1pm (EST), which is the first in its new series of practice management webinars. This webinar will be delivered by Michael Beggs, Esq., MTBC's Director of Client Relationship Management and Pravin Conda, Esq., MTBC's Patent Counsel, and will focus on the new reimbursement rules that allow a typical primary care provider to generate approximately $16,000 a year in additional revenue.
Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Medicare patients are now entitled to an annual wellness visit. By funding a yearly wellness visit and requiring a personalized health plan for each patient, Medicare aims to keep patients healthy instead of merely treating patients after they become sick. The reimbursement for this encounter is high - on average, $159 - and it is provided to patients free of any out-of-pocket cost.
"We are committed to helping providers increase revenues, reduce administrative expenses and enhance workflows and we're confident that this webinar series will help us fulfill that commitment," explained David Rosenblum, Vice Chairman of MTBC's Board of Directors. This series will cover a wide variety of practice management topics including leveraging technology to manage patient balances, developing RVU-based compensation models and surviving E&M coding audits.
"Part of our webinar will focus on leveraging MTBC's patent pending CareConnector™ service, which helps providers navigate the requirements of the Medicare wellness visit in order to ensure they receive full reimbursement. In addition to helping our providers systematically identify and schedule reimbursable well visits, we empower them with easy to follow templates that smoothly guide providers through the examination and ensure that it's properly documented," said Mr. Beggs.
While every practice is unique, early users of CareConnector™ have seen approximately 25% of eligible patients respond to the proactive system by scheduling and attending a well visit. A small practice with an active Medicare population of four hundred patients that experiences a 25% scheduling success rate will earn approximately $16,000 in additional Medicare reimbursements.
Providers who wish to join MTBC for its complimentary Medicare annual well visit webinar may do so by registering at www.mtbc.com.
