Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) July 27, 2012
Avid 1960's poster collector Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for vintage 1968 Jimi Hendrix Gulfstream Park Miami concert posters. Hendrix played on May 19, 1968 first day of the Miami Pop Festival. According to Hawley, “This was Woodstock's promoter Michael Lang's first foray into the concert promoting business. The concert was held outdoors in Hallandale, Florida. Steppenwolf, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Mothers of Invention, and Blue Cheer played at the Miami Pop Festival. Hendrix was the closing act on the first day of the two-day concert. The following day it rained and Hendrix wrote, “Rainy Day, Dream Away”.
Hawley continues, “Three different concert posters were created for the festival. One features an artistic rendition of Jimi Hendrix's face done in orange, brown and turquoise with the name of the Jimi Hendrix Experience Band and the dates they played. The two concert posters are much larger and feature a psychedelic buddha like figure sitting on top of a barrel. These posters mention the complete festival lineup, and the dates the different bands were playing. At the pop festival, these posters sold for a dollar a piece.”
Hawley will pay $3,000 cash for 1968 Jimi Hendrix Gulfstream Park Miami concert posters or any other 1967-1970 vintage Hendrix concert posters. Any condition would be accepted. Please call 310-346-1965 or email andrew(at)vintageconcertposterbuyer(dot)com.
