WikiSeer First Company to Successfully Perfect its Patented Summarization Technology Using Millions of Articles from Wikipedia
- Reduces content by 95% extracting the five most relevant sentences in real-time - New advertising API for online publishers improves ad relevance and performance - Free browser add-on enables real-time summarization of web links and articles
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2012
WikiSeer, the Santa Clara based start-up pioneering real-time semantic summarization, today announced that it has successfully tested, training and completed its 1.0 platform update using more than 3.5 million English-based articles available on the Wikipedia.org portal as well as from thousands of additional websites.
In real-time WikiSeer captures the essence and core principles from any text document by extracting the five most instructive and informative sentences from a page, link or article. In the course of using Wikipedia there were thousands of articles (topics) whereby the platform would cull through tens of pages and paragraphs to arrive at the five most important sentences (user definable up to 10) with better than 85% accuracy based on user testing and feedback.
According to Sameer Yami, Co-founder and CEO the testing included more than 3.5 million articles representing nearly 90% of all the articles found on the English Wikipedia.org site. “Our exhaustive development and training has allowed WikiSeer to improve its algorithm to better select and extract the core essence from any type of article – as diverse and complicated as technical essays, patent applications, and legal agreements to general articles and all points in between with great accuracy” said Mr. Yami.
We are also pleased to announce that our service is available for businesses and consumers. For enterprises, WikiSeer offers an advertising supported API (AdInsight) that extracts the meaning of a web page and provides relevant advertising links for monetization. For more information on the AdInsight API visit http://www.wikiseer.com.
For consumers, there is a free downloadable browser add-on tool for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox users to help avoid information overload as they surf the web. In real-time any article link, page or text document can be summarized in seconds to highlight the most pertinent contextual information in an easy to read pop-up window. WikiSeer (http://www.wikiseer.com) founded in 2010 has developed a real-time text summarization service using its patent granted semantic technology know-how. WikiSeer uses a proprietary combination of summarization, semantics, natural language processing, ontologies, statistical analysis and linguistics perfected by years of tuning their engine by analysing millions of websites and pages to understand the essence of the content in milliseconds.
WikiSeer makes their technology available for use via two free services. AdInsightSM, WikiSeer‘s powerful API for publishers to summarize their website media and return more relevant advertising based on the page content. AdInsight has demonstrated in commercial application up to 300% improvement in CTRs/eCPMs performance. WikiSeer also offers a free web browser add-in tool for consumers to summarize pages, links and documents as they surf the Internet. Recently WikiSeer was voted a Top 3 finalist at the TEC International Startup Conference.
