Colorado publisher advances its digital business strategy with DTI.

Digital Technology International (DTI™) has signed an agreement with The Pueblo Chieftain, Colorado’s oldest daily, to install DTI’s complete suite of digital media solutions through DTI Cloud, the company’s award-winning cloud platform. The high performance software will replace The Chieftain’s outdated and disparate systems with a unified enterprise platform.
The Colorado publication selected DTI ContentPublisher, DTI Advertising, and DTI Circulation to optimize its news media operations. Integrated functionality, increasing audience engagement, and the ability to improve cost performance through cloud computing were at the top of their list of requirements.
“We are very excited. DTI Cloud is a strategic move for us as well as a new business model we have wanted to adopt for a long time,” said Ray M. Stafford, general manager, The Pueblo Chieftain. “With the new solutions, we will have more reliable information to make better—proactive and strategic—business decisions. In the cloud environment we will always have the latest versions of the software.”
Stafford continues, “Content and relevance matter. Getting the news out immediately and then updating news instantly, matters. We would like to be a more audience-based publication and deliver the news the way our audience is obviously moving toward to receive it—in a digital format. With this technology it allows us to provide information any time, any way for our customers.”
“Replacing our older systems with a new, unified system is a smart move,” said Phil Ruegg, information technology director, The Pueblo Chieftain. “The functionality and integration among the DTI systems; being able to create content once and have it publish in real-time to all media channels, phones, tablets, Web, and print was a decision-maker for us.”
“We are happy to partner with a news group that has such a deep interest in the future of news media and developing new ideas for audience engagement,” said Dan Paulus, president, DTI. “With DTI Cloud—on the business side The Pueblo Chieftain knows that unifying their systems will instantly improve their digital workflows, operational efficiencies, and bottom line. The Pueblo Chieftain wanted a more collaborative environment—with Digital Technology software, they’ll get that in a strategic platform for digital revenue expansion.”
Established in 1868, The Pueblo Chieftain is the print and online news source for Southern Colorado.
