Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (ISI), a leading provider of IT infrastructure assessment and optimization software products and services, announces the release of ISI Snapshot Version 7.5.0.1 with streamlined installation and enhanced user functionality.

With the new release, Snapshot installation and initial startup processes are streamlined with added database connectivity logic to allow the user to specify the target database during installation. For example, if the user specifies an existing database instance, Snapshot will not attempt to install the bundled SQL2005Express database. Database "stored procedures" functions are enhanced to provide more accurate RAM utilization calculations.

This new release contains performance improvements enabling more efficient database read/write functions during vSphere data collection and reporting. With Snapshot, IT system administrators, engineers and architects currently have comprehensive visibility of the virtual server infrastructure created by ESXi, and vSphere and can understand how effectively the virtual layer components are utilizing the physical hardware resources that have been allocated to vSphere. The complete physical and virtual infrastructure picture provided by Snapshot allows managed service companies and IT professionals to align and configure virtual infrastructure for maximum cloud computing performance with full and efficient utilization of allocated physical core four resources (cpu, memory, disk i/o, network).

Snapshot’s existing features include non-invasive discovery; reliable operation on physical, virtual and cloud IT infrastructures; support of multiple hypervisors; support of unlimited number of devices (avoiding the inconvenience of duplication error checking and manual integration for multiple analysis runs); and the ability to quickly handle any size configuration (can scan up to 500+ devices/hour). The application delivers detailed and complete information on all IT system components, operating systems, infrastructure interdependences, configurations, network traffic flow patterns, and application workloads and dependencies. In addition, Snapshot continues to provide advanced metrics and feature rich reporting capabilities.

“Our focus for this release is to provide the best user experience possible,” said Willard (Bill) Cecchi, President of ISI. “We’ve simplified the initial start-up process and added functionality that makes it easier for IT professionals to perform strategic IT tasks that keep business critical applications available and cost effective for small, medium and enterprise businesses.”
