New FalconStor CDP Virtual Appliance Now Available - First of a Complete Line of Data Protection

Melville, NY. – September 18, 2007 – FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the market leader in disk-based data protection solutions, today announced the availability of the certified FalconStor® Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Virtual Appliance for VMware Virtual Infrastructure on Intel’s Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor-based Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2.

Fully integrated with the VMware ESX server, the CDP Virtual Appliance gives organizations the ability to meet data protection challenges by providing continuous availability of the application server and its data across virtual and physical environments. This industry-first data protection solution effectively eliminates backup windows and the need for mandatory restores to deliver true business continuity.

With VMware virtualization technology, the CDP Virtual Appliance is easily deployed in under 10 minutes and enables organizations to utilize FalconStor storage services on virtual servers - ensuring the continuous availability of mission critical data, files, and even entire systems in the event of hardware or software failures or site-level disaster. Running the FalconStor CDP Virtual Appliance software solution on VMware ESX Server, the SSR212MC2 has the flexibility to be deployed as both a VMware infrastructure server and an iSCSI Storage Target.

"The response to the introduction of our CDP Virtual Appliance for VMware has been extremely positive. FalconStor is further committed to providing a complete line of data protection virtual appliances for VMware environments. This will soon include a virtual tape library solution with de-duplication," said Bernie Wu, vice president of business development at FalconStor Software. "By deploying virtual appliances on Intel’s SSR212MC2, mid-market customers can now benefit from superior data protection capabilities for all applications within their primary infrastructure.”

"The mid-market requires the same level of data protection as the enterprise," said Mike Wall, general manager, Intel Storage Group Marketing. "By utilizing VMware and by combining the flexibility of the Intel® Storage System SSR212MC2 with FalconStor CDP Virtual Appliance, customers will receive a complete data protection solution that is both high-performing and value driven."
