Citrix XenServer to be bundled and sold with Lenovo’s server platform


BEIJING - March 17, 2008 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, and Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced an OEM agreement for Lenovo to certify, support and sell Citrix XenServerTM products with their hardware.  By offering Citrix XenServer with Lenovo server platforms and Lenovo server management software, Lenovo will streamline virtualization and virtual management for their customers in China.

Introduced in August 2007, the latest version of Citrix XenServer includes XenMotionTM for live migration of running virtual machines; XenCenterTM, a scalable, resilient virtual infrastructure management framework integrated into every host; an open, standards-based XenAPI which enables ISVs and OEMs to develop add-on solutions for XenServer Enterprise Edition; and, a powerful 64-bit hypervisor that supports both 32- and 64-bit enterprise workloads.

"This agreement will help accelerate and simplify server virtualization adoption for our customers in China by providing all of the necessary tools to manage as well as create virtual machines," said Jackie Lee, General Manager of Lenovo Server Division,at Lenovo. "Citrix is a valuable partner because they provide a world-class virtualization platform which features all of the capabilities our customers require, including high performance and easy to use functionality."

With this OEM agreement, Citrix will work closely with Lenovo in development for the integration of XenServer virtualization management within the Lenovo server management software. Additionally, Citrix will provide support during development and distribution.

"Lenovo customers will now be able to easily deploy and manage XenServer products as they will be integrated into the servers and management software that are familiar to them."

Lenovo expects to begin selling the integrated product in two-way and four-way server by April 2008. With Latest Intel Quad-core Xeon based platform, Lenovo two-way rack server products R515 and R525 have excellent data handling capacity and great scalability. The best choice for virtualization: Lenovo Quad-core four-way server R630 G7 is the enterprise-class high-end server products, with a strong reliability, high performance and manageability. In recent SPECint_rate2006 benchmark, R630 G7 won the Global Test championship of IA server products.
