Mountain View, CA – June 15, 2010 – HyTrust, Inc., the leader in policy management and access control for virtualization infrastructure, announced today it has been selected as a finalist for Red Herring's North America 100 award, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the North American business region.

The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across North America. The nominees are evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.

“HyTrust shows great promise and deserves to be among the Finalists," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "This year was especially difficult. Despite the global economic situation, there were many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products that we had a difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists.”

HyTrust offers a central view, and central point of control and compliance, over the entire virtual infrastructure. This includes hypervisor configuration, compliance, and access management. It combines the best practices, processes, and controls of physical infrastructure security into a comprehensive solution for virtual infrastructure to ensure a comparable level of operational readiness and survivability. With HyTrust, organizations can adopt or expand their use of virtualization and realize all the business benefits and advantages that come with it.

Finalists for the 2010 edition of the Red Herring 100 North America award are selected based upon their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health. Hundreds of companies in the telecommunications, security, Web 2.0, software, hardware, biotech, and clean tech industries were evaluated. The unique assessment of a company’s potential is complemented by a review of its actual track record and standing, which allows Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list an invaluable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.

“We are very pleased that HyTrust has been chosen by Red Herring for our promising technology around virtual infrastructure control,” said Eric Chiu, HyTrust President & CEO. “Virtualization and cloud computing are transforming the datacenter.  Without proper controls and visibility, the promise of the cloud cannot be realized.”

The Top 100 winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on June 24 at the event. And, as finalist, HyTrust CEO Eric Chiu will present the company’s winning strategy during the Red Herring North America Conference in San Diego, June 22-24, 2010.
