News Analysis: Why I.R.I.S. Chose Leostream By VSM News Staff published: Tuesday, February 17 2009
Yesterday Leostream announced that its connection broker was
chosen by I.R.I.S. to enable the virtual desktop solution for a large-scale Belgian
government project.
Why is this noteworthy? Because it’s another in a
steady stream of customers that Leostream is winning in the high-stakes desktop
virtualization market.
Leostream is a company that doesn’t get much attention, but
has quietly developed a reputation for the best connection broker product for
hosted desktops (VDI), racking up over 150 customers, 20-plus channel
partners worldwide, and 18 technology partnerships - including all the
key virtualization players.
As we see it, most all organizations embracing desktop
virtualization will have a heterogeneous mix of solutions, requiring a
heterogeneous connection broker. Connection brokers are Leostream’s sole
focus - and Leostream is the only company to offer a truly heterogeneous one.
It’s not sexy, but it is complex technology that is difficult to get
right. Leostream has done that. Hail to a company that focused first on
getting the technology right and satisfying customers, rather than proclaiming
itself via marketology.
We believe that Leostream has properly focused on “first
things first” with a solid, flexible product and is now very well positioned to
capitalize on the rapidly developing desktop virtualization market.
It’s now time for Leostream to start tooting its horn.
