Surgient's Virtual Lab Applications Recognized for Innovation in Application Management and Corporate Learning Technology

AUSTIN, Texas January 31, 2006 Surgient, the leader in virtual lab applications for automating software demo, test and training labs, today announced that its applications had been named by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as finalists in the 2006 CODiE Awards for the second consecutive year.

Surgient's Virtual QA/Test Lab Management System (VQMS), which automates the provisioning and management of software testing labs, has been selected as a finalist for the award "Best Application Management Solution." Surgient's Virtual Training Lab Management System (VTMS), which automates the provisioning and management of hands-on software training labs, has been named as a finalist for the award "Best Technology Solution, Corporate Learning."

Presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the CODiE Awards celebrate achievement and vision in software, education technology and digital content.

"The 21st Annual CODiE Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, information and education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a CODiE Awards Finalist is a significant achievement."

"We are pleased and honored that the industry continues to recognize Surgient's applications and our track record of helping some of the world's largest companies put virtualization to work," said Bill Daniel, Surgient president and CEO. "These most recent CODiE Award nominations reinforce Surgient's market leadership and the extent to which virtual labs are helping companies improve critical business processes, employee productivity, and bottom line performance."
A recent recipient of a prestigious Brandon Hall 2005 Excellence in Learning award, Surgient's VTMS enables companies to deliver live, hands-on software training to anyone, anywhere, anytime, while Surgient's VQMS enables companies to centrally manage and automate the deployment of complex software environments required to execute automated and manual testing processes.

The winners of the 2006 SIIA CODiE Awards will be announced at a gala event on May 16 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, CA.
