ShieldIQ Standard Edition provides free monitoring of hosted virtual platforms. For additional benefits such as automated control and enhanced protection, users can upgrade to Shield IQ.
Developers, system administrators, and IT professionals running multiple applications on clients and servers using hosted virtualization technologies like VMWare Player, VMWare Workstation and VMWare (GSX) Server require that these multiple applications are running properly with sufficient resources. The resources like CPU, memory and disk are shared among these applications in a virtual environment. A single application malfunction may cause all the applications to degrade. Shield IQ runs in the background and provides real-time monitoring and protection to enable optimal application performance in virtual environments.
Though vendors have stepped up their virtualization offerings to the market, a void remains in the undeveloped area of managing those virtualized environments and devices once they are in place. As an industry first, ShieldIQ allows users to monitor multiple virtual appliances concurrently – with intelligent resource allocation based on top-level business policy objectives. Availability
ToutVirtual ShieldIQ Standard Edition provides free visibility into hosted virtual platform operations and will be generally available by end of March 2006. Support and software licenses for Shield IQ Standard Edition will be available as part of either Shield IQ or the VirtualIQ product suite, also available by end of March 2006.
