NetWisdom Sales More
than Double; International Expansion Accelerates
SCOTTS
VALLEY, Calif., January 27, 2010 –Virtual Instruments, a
leader in virtual infrastructure optimization, today announced a record-setting
2009 with sales increasing over 100% during the second half of the year relative
to the 1st half. This has enabled the company to significantly grow its employee
base, expand European sales and support presence, and add new international
channel partners. New customer adoption amongst Global 2000 enterprises
accelerated and spread across a range of industries. In addition to the publicly
announced deployments at Unilever and Raymond James, new customers include the
US Department of Energy, one of the largest US telecommunications service
providers, a large US credit monitoring organization, a major European insurance
company and a large communications semiconductor manufacturer.
“The new
customer adoption rate of Virtual Instruments’ products and services continues
to gain momentum. We are adding new channel partners, such as Dell, and have
recently added two new board members to complement our strong management team,”
said Mark Urdahl, chief executive officer, Virtual Instruments. “Global 2000
companies are turning to Virtual Instruments to reduce the risk of downtime
affecting mission-critical business operations, to improve application
performance, and to reduce overall capital and operating expenses associated
with their SAN and virtual server infrastructure.”
Virtual
Instruments anticipates strong adoption of its recently announced SOS–4–SANs emergency
storage area network (SAN) troubleshooting service, a new service for Global
2000 IT organizations experiencing severe fibre channel SAN availability or
performance issues. Because of the typical annual 30 to 50 percent increase in
data growth, SANs continue to grow in size and complexity, increasing the risk
of serious performance problems and even outages. By utilizing the award-winning
NetWisdom and VirtualWisdom monitoring and analysis solutions, Virtual
Instruments reduces costly SAN downtime by identifying and resolving critical
Fibre Channel SAN problems to bring mission-critical applications rapidly back
to optimal performance.
Rounding out
2009, Virtual Instruments significantly expanded its board of directors, by
bringing on new, highly experienced operating executives. The additions included
Michael Marks, who was the former CEO of Flextronics, and
John Thompson, former CEO and current chairman of the board of directors for Symantec. Virtual Instruments
also expanded its presence and leadership team in Europe by hiring its first
Country Managers for Germany and France. In addition, the company hired a
Solutions Consulting Manager for EMEA. Together, these additions will enable
the company to better service its customers in those
regions.
Additionally,
Virtual Instruments has partnered with Dell as an authorized reseller of Virtual
Instruments’ solutions. Under the terms of agreement, Dell’s direct and channel
sales forces are now reselling NetWisdom and VirtualWisdom, the industry’s first
real-time virtual infrastructure optimization solution. This will further expand
Virtual Instruments’ customer outreach, allowing more large organizations to
benefit from a less costly, higher performance physical and virtual
infrastructure.
As we move into
2010, Virtual Instruments continues to celebrate being named a finalist for
“2009 Storage Management Product of the Year” by Storage Magazine and
SearchStorage.com, while preparing to further support and guide existing and new
customers with their virtual infrastructure optimization in the New
Year.
