Kevin Leahy is the Director of Virtualization Solutions Marketing for Systems and Technology Group at International Business Machines Corporation, based in Somers, New York.

In this role he is responsible to drive marketing for IBM Virtualization Solutions, a business unit designed to enable IBM to create a marketplace of high value, high growth solutions around systems and storage virtualization. This business unit works with customers to enable them to reduce the cost, increase the utilization, flexibility and business resiliency of their infrastructures. His team’s work is part of the IBM Systems and Technology Group but includes solutions from across IBM

Prior to this assignment Kevin served as the Director of Emerging Business Market Management for the IBM Systems Group. In this capacity, Kevin was responsible for the definition and delivery of system group solutions in growth opportunity areas. His team focused on market selection and development of solutions with a compelling value proposition, and go-to-market execution. This included the selection and enablement of Independent Software Vendors, Integrators and other partners to provide customers with complete solutions. This was preceded by a role as Program Director Enterprise Marketing for IBM Storage Group where he was responsible for the market management and product marketing of the high end of IBM Total Storage Products.

Other assignments included; leading the Storage Solution Team and Program Director of WebSphere Platform Extension Products in SWG. Earlier in his career, he established the partner channel in the Americas and EMEA for high end servers and managed the low end portfolio of the S390 family. Over his 25 years of experience in IBM, he has held software and hardware development and management positions including managing the development and delivery of the ESCON architecture as well as channel and peripheral products, and leading the center of competence for power development in IBM.
