Vmware Attempts to Lure Microsoft Professionals

If you are still using Microsoft products, Vmware would like to entice you – Get either FREE or discounted products when you refer Vmware to others.

In what might be one of the first salvos fired in the anticipated marketing war between Microsoft and VMware; VMware is offering Microsoft Professionals either free or discounted product and referral codes in which they can accumulate points as a reward for referring others. Microsoft Virtual Server is expected to be releated within the next 60 days.

Microsoft Certified Trainers can receive fully functional licensed copy of VMware Workstation, absolutely free directly from Vmware ; in return Vmware asks "only that if you appreciate the product and its capabilities, you recommend VMware products to your clients, feature the VMware logo on your website, and generally endorse us."

Vmware also will issue a referral code to MCT's so that their clients will receive a 5% discount and the MCT may earn VMware Points if the client buys VMware product using the referral code

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCP) can earn a rebate if they purchase VMware Workstation. "For a limited time, when you purchase a copy of VMware Workstation, the first 1000 MCP/MCSEs to register for the program will receive a $100 rebate. " VMware will also provide MCSE and MCP's with referral codes as well.
